If
you own an EIFS (Exterior Insulation Finish Systems) house, the
building industry recommends that it be inspected for moisture
intrusion in the wall cavity. If the inspection reveals problem
areas, you should have these areas repaired by a certified EIFS
Installer.
Prolong
your protection
Three
to four months following repairs, these areas should be tested
again to insure the repairs were adequate. If the inspection shows
no high moisture readings, you will be ready to proceed with an
exterior maintenance program on your house which would include
annual inspections of the EIFS, more appropriately performed by
a certified EIFS inspector. This procedure will insure your EIFS
home will last and perform as designed by the manufacturer for
years to come.
